TECH LINE™ exhaust system coatings are designed to maintain adhesion at temperatures above the normal operating range of an exhaust system. Unless otherwise indicated temperatures given refer to the base metal temperature that a coating can normally be expected to handle. Depending on the resin system, TECH LINE™ coatings designed for exhaust systems, can handle base metal temperatures in excess of 2000°F. Color change can be expected at lower temperatures with many of the coatings. A color change does not necessarily reflect a failure of the coating, as color stability is secondary to the protective function. Several colors have maintained color stability, to base metal temperatures in excess of 1600°F. The use of multiple coats including MCS™ can raise the color stability of all exhaust system coatings.
CilGen Satin Black™
CilGen Satin Black™ is a break through in Thermal Barrier Exhaust System Coatings. CilGen Satin Black™ is a thin film, Jet Black coating, designed to protect and insulate Exhaust System Components. Testing has shown that CilGen Satin Black™ is capable of maintaining adhesion at temperatures in excess of 1800°F. CilGen Satin Black™ is an completely air curing coating that requires no baking, producing a very hard, smooth, chemical resistant, durable, color stable finish.

CERMASEAL™
CERMASEAL™ is a thin film coating designed to insulate and protect Exhaust system coatings. CERMASEAL™ reduces the oxidation that can occur on highly polished Metallic Ceramic coatings, allowing the bright chrome like finish to last much longer. CERMASEAL™ may also be applied to CermaStainless, CermaWhite, Cermakrome and other Tech Line products. CERMASEAL™ gives a mild gloss to the coated surface and seals the finished part so that it is resistance to moat chemicals found in an automotive environment. CERMASEAL™ provides a smooth surface, which is easy to clean and resists staining from both fuel and oil. CERMASEAL™ may also be applied to any polished metal and some plastic surfaces. CERMASEAL™ requires no baking. CERMASEAL™ is retail packaged, to allow the Coat-It-Yourself enthusiast to take advantage of this new product.
